a favourite revisited - Rated
This was a favourite book when my children were very young. The bears leave the house and go on a journey into the wood - exciting but also a bit frightening. Rather in the manner of 'Chicken Licken' and other old classics, there's a lot of the kind of repetition that little children love, and the pictures are very lively and enjoyable. There's also a mix of the enthralling and the slightly scary, and it all ends happily with the bears back in their house and satisfyingly safe. It's a book that works and is asked for again and again by children that have had it read to them - I know!
Deceptively Simple - Rated
I bought this book unseen, having read rave reviews on Amazon. When it arrived, I have to say I was disappointed. The text was so simple there hardly seemed to be any story. However our kids felt differently from the word Go. Because it's so simple they both became familiar with it very quickly, and within 2 weeks my four year old (who can't actually read) had memorised it all to 'read' to his two year old sister. Now when she is looking at it by herself, I often hear her reciting it too as she turns the pages. They both love it. A resounding success!
Like A Trip Back In Time - Rated
Having been read this book as a child and had the pleasure...yes pleasure or reading it myself to my kid brother when he was young...i can only say that....getting the chance to read it again recently was nothing short of being able to look back at myself through the window of time...after the first page i realsied that I still knew the entire book from start to finish and finish to start..(which makes sense if you read the book)
Truly amazing.....and i guarentee your kids will love it, you`ll love it and you`ll remember it all in 20 odd years too

I loved this book as a child and have bought it for my own son and nephews. Their friends love it and we can all recite it by heart! A must for every young reader!
A wonderful first reading book - Rated
My 4 year old daughter came home from school with this book and read it right through to all the family. It is the first book she has read on her own and she is very proud of herself as we are! An amazing book which give children the confidence and enthusiasm to begin reading for themselves. Deserves more than 5 stars.
