Vampire Mountain - A Review - Rated 4/5
Vampire Mountain is the fourth book of the Darren Shan series. To give a brief background I will tell you that in book one, Cirque Du Freak, the story begins with the author saying it is his true life story and that the only thing he has altered are the names of people and places. In that book Darren Shan becomes a half vampire.
Vampire Mountain is set eight years on from Cirque Du Freak and is about Shan's journey to Vampire Mountain, home of the vampires.
The book begins with Darren Shan being told he is to travel to Vampire Mountain by Mr. Crepsley. Mr. Larten Crepsley is now Darren's guardian; he was the vampire who blooded Darren in Cirque Du Freak. He is described as having orange hair with a scar down his cheek and always wearing red, except for the journey. In the book's Mr. Crepsley is made out to be quite cruel, almost heartless and having a fiery temper.
The only other people to accompany them were two Little People, one being named Harkat Mulds, and another vampire called Gavner Purl, a vampire general. The Little People are 'produced' by an awful man by he name of Mr. Desmond Tiny. The Little People are souls of the dead who had made a deal with Mr. Tiny; he gave them a second chance at life if they served him. They are called Little People because they are not very tall and wear blue cloaks covering they're grey faces.
This book is teenage fiction. It has quite a gripping storyline, which keeps you wanting to read more. Overall a good book if you enjoy the odd shock. It is fairly easy to read; more for late tweens, early teens.

Carry on reading the saga for darren shan! - Rated 4/5
Its not the best book of the saga just another introduction to more chilling stories. You must read it to stay with the storyline.

Not his best, but worth a read, - Rated 4/5
If you've read darren shans other books you may be disappointed with this one, the storyline is a bit weak, but its still worth a look in, and you'll understand book 5 better if youve read this one,
