One of the best so far - Rated 5/5
This deffinatly one of the best Darren Shans books so far - it was action and suspence all the way through without any boring points - it starts off with Darren, Mr Crepsly, Harkat, Vancha and their prisoner Steve (continuing directly from the end of Allies of the Night - book 8) trapped in a building surrended by police and vigilante mobs who think that they are serial killers and ends with the death of one of the major charactors in the series.

A very good read, recomended for Shan fans.

I wish I could give it 100 stars - Rated 5/5
After reading the previous eight books the world of Darren Shan has been explained in such detail it almost seems real but its not. You will need to remember that when you read this book. I have ocasionly cried whilst reading the other books but i'll warn you now YOU CAN NEVER EXPECT HAPPY ENDINGS FROM DARREN SHAN. If you look at my copy of this book you will find tear marks all over the pages for three chapters. But i keep telling my friends at school I HAVE to go on and read the next one. You will learn after reading this book that Darren Shan has an awful way of making you feel everything will be alright and then torment you as everything slips back into its hopeless state. My advice is not to read this book without a box of tissues close to hand.

The Best Bloody book ever - Rated 5/5
of all the books in the series this was the saddest. a major character dies. i bought the book and read it in the same day. it was real intense. and very sad.

The Saga Continues - Rated 5/5
The Saga of Darren Shan continues to be interesting and fun. Darren Shan is a talented author who knows exactly when to bring up characters from previous books in the series and when to add surprises that may have been predictable; but, Shan waits until you second-guess yourself as a reader and then he puts in the plot twist you have been waiting for.

In Killers of the Dawn Shan builds great suspense as Vancha March, Mr. Crepsley and Harkat Mulds are actively escaping the vampaneze in a hostage-crisis situation. The destined confrontations with the vampaneze lord are decreasing and the odds seem to be in favor of the vampaneze.

Much like Mr. Crepsley, Darren is still very drawn to his human side which works against him in his plight to defeat the Lord of the Vampaneze. This book is full of huge plot shake-ups. There is unexpected death, secrets revealed and more to come. . .you should dare to continue. . .Luck, readers!

For those who claim the author is without skill, I say Charna's guts! You just don't get it. This series continues to be all readers can think about until. . .

the next installment--The Lake of Souls

I read all 12 books in this series and actually ordered the last 4 from England because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

Shan's unique perspective on vampires makes this series fun for those who like vampire stories and those who do not. Shan is truly talented.
