My one year old tried to eat it so it must be good. It already feels like a timeless classic to me. Ingenious.

Warning - you're children will want you to read this again..and again...and again.... - Rated
The book arrived last Thursday - in one week I have already read it at least 40 times, my son loves it. Recommend it.

Not Jeffers' best - Rated
My elder daughter and admittedly myself too being completely captivated both by the storyline and illustrations of Jeffers' "How to catch a star", our story book library was expanded over time to include Lost and Found, The Way Back Home and The Incredible Book Eating Boy. Of all 4 books, the Incredible Book Eating Boy is the only one that is very seldom requested as a bedtime read. The illustrations are as usual very distinctive but rather monotone in comparison to his other works, and the whole book just seems to lack the compactness and uniqueness that most particularly "How to Catch a Star" and "The Way Back Home" have.

My 3yr granddaughter loved this book. It provoked lots of questions (as do all Oliver Jeffers books!). The graphics are stylish and the stories interesting, similar to a short Roald Dahl in that the storylines are very imaginative! Although the stories are very short, the author has very cleverly managed to write stories that appeal to both the child and the reader and have postive messages of friendship and kindness. In addition, because the stories are short and interesting, parents won't be groaning when they asked to read again and again!
