Waste of time - Rated
I just couldn't get it. I had to stop after a few chapters, and I tried to start again a few times, to no avail. This is "cliche central", the author tried too hard and failed. I want my money back.
Interesting subject matter - Rated
I bought this book before I checked the reviews on Amazon and have to confess the "mixed" reactions did put me off a little.
Yes, I've read the Da Vinci Code (just like everyone else on the planet) and yes, I understand the comparisons to this novel but .....
This is a great read, an interesting subject and a well plotted book in it's own right. It is a mystery tied to ancient beliefs - hence the comparisons - but so what? It is possible to read (and enjoy) more than one book on a particular related topic and that does not make it a rip off of the original.
Buy the book, read it and make your own judgement. For me, this was worth keeping an open mind for and I'm glad the hype surrounding the Da Vinci code - which I agree is an excellent book - didn't put me off giving this book a try.
Yes i like Dan Brown.. so what! - Rated
I have to admit I also bought this book due to the claim "the biggest rival to Dan Brown" I know they're alot of people that have reviewed this book that also don't like Dan Brown. Well this has nothing to do with him.. The story itself is just completely rediculous. It started off quite well and then just goes downhill. I got to the point where I was reading the book just because I didn't want to waste my money. The ending is predictable, I also guessed who the "bad guy" was half way through. As the plot unfolded it just got more boring. I am quite annoyed that I wasted my time reading this book. If you like Fiction then buy Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. Its a much better read.
The biggest rip off ever - Rated

Where do i start with this book? It's faults are simple - it's the biggest rip-off of Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code' ever, hell, they've even used the same font/look on the cover. The book itself covers all the same themes - religion, cheap mystery, cheap action, cheap sex and overall cheap thrills.
As with Dan Brown's own novels, this was quite an entertaining read but is utter junk in the end. It's badly written and glosses over all the same religious themes in a way that just undermines the whole concept of books as something inovative and creative. This is nothing more than a money making device for the author and his publishers/agent. So, yes, the book was OK and if you're looking for something quick and easy to blast through over the holidays or such like then feel free to check this book out - just don't set your standards too high, ok?
Don't waste time on this - Rated
This is one of the few books I've found that I just couldn't read - I didn't make it through the first 50 pages. It's awful cliched rubbish with a new stereotype waiting to leap out at you on every page. If it wasn't such a waste of my time it would have been funny.
