DISTURBINGLY EXPLICIT DESCIPTION OF ABUSE - Rated 5/5
It was impossible to put the book down and I read it in a few hours. The book incites very strong emotions ranging from anger, despair, sadness, frustration & revulsion to utter disbelief at the depravity of some human beings, the serious incompetence of the social services in this case and complete admiration for Cathy, the foster carer and her family. Defnitely worth reading but there should be a warning regarding the explicitness of the abuse.

One of the most unique memoirs yet - Rated 5/5
I've read a fair amount of memoirs, there's a lot about now. But this is the first book i have felt compelled to write about, i finished this book in 2 days!!
This book is different in the way that it's written and the angle for which it's written. It is captivating, heartbreaking, and so insightful it would either convince you to become a foster carer or put you off for life.
A truly insperational book, not only for the victim but also for those who truly cared about her.

a page turner - Rated 5/5
I couldnt put this book down it was amazingly harrowing what this woman has done to help all the foster children is brilliant.I read it in a day.

Explicit and Horrifying - Rated 5/5
This book I just couldnt put down, I read it in 3 hours!! I cried for that little girl that had been through so much! But I also admired Cathy for doing her utmost to help her, even though her own family suffered. I wish there were more people like Cathy out there! Thanks for your story, It was Sad, heart rendering and above all so well put together, no one who reads it will escape a tear.

Disturbing - Rated 4/5
Cathy is an amazingly dedicated foster carer who tells the tale of an extremely damaged girl she took into her care and how, with a lot of patience, she slowly unravelled the story of her horrifically abused past.
It's the most appalling tragic case of abuse I've ever read about and I found the way Social Services dealt with it extremely disturbing.Thank goodness for people like Cathy though.
Cathy writes in an open and honest way and the way the tale slowly unfolds made it hard for me to put the book down.My only criticism is that not enough was said about the outcome of the prosecution.
