Disappointing - Rated
I have enjoyed all of Torey Hayden's previous books but found this book really difficult to read. The focus on the mother's fantasy world and the chapters dedicated to re-telling a story about this imaginary world and mythical characters made it feel like a Science Fiction novel. I was not impressed at all and wouldn't recommend it.

I have loved every one of Torey Haydens previous titles and so when I found that she had written a novel, I admit I was sceptical as to wether or not it'd be as good...
and when beginning to read it I wondered if it was going to turn out simply a mix of the previous stories all in one...
I am glad to say though that I quickly realised I was wrong and this novel was truely enjoyable. Although it seems a long read it really was hard to put down - as cliched as that sounds!
Can't wait for Hayden's next novel!

i have just finished reading this book wich i found a bit slow at points mostly the therapy secions with the child but only becase the rest was so good. so if you have only just started reading this and are finding it boaring i would recomednd you carrie on becase it dose get much better.all in all a great book one of the best novels i have ever read !!!

I have purchased & read all of Torey's books, infact I've re-read them before I passed them on, and I couldn't wait for this new release, but I was so disappointed and I really struggled to get through it.
One of things I've always liked about her previous books is that her character descriptions made you feel as if you actually knew these people, this is the first book of hers that I have had to flick back & re-read who was who. Sorry Torey but really feel let down with this one.

Having read several of Torey Hayden's books I could not wait to see what her first fictional story would be. I was NOT disappointed. Ms Hayden's style of writing, the inspired story lines and delicate, subtle interweaving of the characters made this a book which could not be put down. I cannot wait for the next one.
