Great! - Rated 5/5
I am a great fan of this genre and this is the first Buff book I have read. Straight away, I would have to place Buff up there with Clancy, Robinson and Brown, three excellent military/techno-thriller writers. The book is very well written and strikes a nice balance between the reality of submarine capabilities now and the not-so-unbelievable futuristic aspects that Buff brings to the very centre of the story. Unlike other writers of this genre, Buff spends a good amount of time establishing the main characters and their interactions with each other, ensuring that the thrills of the story as it unfolds are nicely interweaved with the characters themselves. The only slight downside of this book is the outrageous level of tactical nuclear warfare that is employed by all sides at every opportunity. But putting that aside and allowing for a LITTLE 'poetic license', the story is excellent, keeps you on the edge of your seat and finishes with a great ending, while keeping strong links from the characters and the ongoing plot, into his next book, "Tidal Rip". I would highly recommend this book to you and hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

Phenomenal - Rated 5/5
Joe Buff is the master of thriller action. Great book. Fantastic writer. And, an edge of the seat gripper.
Well Done.

Fine Futuristic Submarine Novel - Rated 4/5
Crush Depth is a new view on the world of Submarine books with the story being set in and around two new futuristic Subs and their crews. The world has been divided between a German Boer Axis and US with nuclear submarines now being the greatest weapons. Although farfetched at times Buff writing style and simultaneous chapters make it a great read. If you like Submarine Or Modern military novels you'll love this ENJOY!
