Excellently written - Rated In this second book, Mathew has fled to Sennia to escape his murder charge but finds that the country as not as safe as he wishes with a new ring bearer, treachery and conflict. Mitchell continues to develop his characters and plotline extremely well, focusing on the main characters who were prevailent in the first novel. Gritty and full of excitement, he moves away from the 'typical' fantasy story and begins to develop a world and plotline specific to his own work. Unlike the first novel, this book takes on a grittier feel as the characters realisethe danger they are in. A truly excellent novel that i read in one sitting before moving onto the next truly. For those of you who like original fantasy that is well written in an Epic like scale, this should be an automatic buy.
