All that you wish for - Rated This is a really gorgeous book by Harper Collins for ages 5+ it says, but I can't see why it can't be "read to" from 3+ as in looked at even if the text is a bit long. We have a faithful retelling of the story, along the lines of general fairy stories with morals that children like and learn by. There's proper old style art illustrtaions with gold throughout for those that hate ugly cartooy ones of late. Each of the 32 A4 pages page begins with a scroll type first letter and the page numbers/borders are also gold colouring. There are lots of large pictures and several double paged ones. Theres a small bit of interesting background information at the beginning citing both Greek & Turkish sources. It says the geometric motifs used were taken from archaeological findings and that the general art style is medieval to make it more up to date. Other books by Craft are: The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty. Similar to art work by Arthur Rackham/Jane Ray/Zelinsky etc. The back cover states it's "richly coloured, elaborately detailed scenes of grandeur, drama & magic".
