One of the best - Rated
This is one of the best books I've read on recovery from relationship addictions. Shaef's philosophy is that society is itself addicted (she has also written a book entitled "When Society Becomes an Addict") which means that she addresses issues that affect everyone - well, everyone I know anyway - that go to explain why so many people have relationship 'stuff' and find relationships so hard, either within a relationship or being unable to form or keep one. This book should be compulsory reading - and as it is slim and succinct, even usual non-readers should be able to give it a go.

I personally feel that the book is lacking depth that others can cover. It also gave a slightly author biased view of the subject of romance addiction: one example is that Anne Wilson Schaef calls on "the church" for a sideways look of how SRR-Addictions are nurtured. She rambles on about "the church" quite a bit. My feelings toward this are that "the church" is a generalisation. If the author cares to separate the Love-addictions in finer detail she might as well apply the same technique towards spiritual principles ... or instead cut it out completely as the comparison lacks substance. This however is a general feeling with regards to this book: I found it all rather superficial but maybe it's enough for people to initiate recovery... good luck!

Highly recommended for anyone, ESPECIALLY MEN, wishing to learn about the realities of how we mis-apply sex, love, and relationships in our lives while trying to find that elusive realationship [sic; think about this spelling] we all yearn for. Anne's understanding and ability to easily explain what is happening makes this a book for everyone.
