re - the complaint 25 Jul 2006 - Rated
I am using an informed guess here, but given this is the 18th edition of the book, the earlier reviews of this book are based on previous versions.
Books that have gone through a series of editions rarely change the content to such an extent that the previous reviews are worthless.
My two penneth anyway, and I am going to buy this book based on previous feedback. Thanks to the previous reviewers.
btw - the rating I have given is my expectation and I only gave one because I couldn't submit this review without entering a rating!

This is not a review - rather it is a complaint that of all the customer reviews, the youngest is August 2005.
As the book wasn't published until March 2006 they are therefore complete nonsense.
Very Useful! - Rated
A very useful tool for anyone wishing to embark on a self-build.
A must for any first time self builder - Rated
Anybody who is contemplating building their own house should read this first, there is a broad overview of the whole process and advise on many difficult decisions, it also answers many of the questions that whose (me) with no knowledge need answered. The book is easy to read and flows well from section to section, an index makes referring back simple, something you will want to do both as you read the book the first time and as reference afterwards. Probably the best book you can buy on the subject
