In `Little Bear's Shapes', we find Old Bear and his friends, the likeable characters created by superb author/illustrator Ms Jane Hissey, are ready to help children learn about shapes.
This delightful book opens with `Little Bear' and `Zebra' with a square flag and ends with a `spot the shape' game.
In between are all the favourite `old timer' characters, along with some new friends, exploring various shapes
in this delightful 32 high quality page book.
The featured shape is linked with an adjective and further emphasised in an information box on the left hand page and used in a simple one line sentence on the right-hand page.
Each shape is in a different colour and at the top of the two-page spread is the list of shapes, which are in the same order, just moving up a place according to the relevant shape featured.
Clear text throughout.
Example of text:-
`.....`red triangle' `Little Bears' dragon mask has triangles for teeth.'
`glass sphere' -'The ball the toys have found is a sphere.'...'
More complex shapes include pyramid, semi-circle, cuboid and cylinder. In the middle of the book two-dimensional shapes (flat) and three dimensional shapes (not flat) are differentiated, making this book suitable for older children, too.
From the back cover:-
