Customer Reviews

Not half as funny as the others - Rated 2/5
I was quite disappointed with this book. I read the other books quite a few years ago and remember really laughing out loud; not so with this one though. There were some occasional funny bits but not enough. Hopefully the next one will be back to the usual standard.

Boogie "Rides" Again? - Rated 3/5
I've read both "500 Mile Walkies" and "Boogie up the River" and I don't consider "Pennine Walkies" to be as amusing, I am disappointed to say. I found myself, at times, trudging along the Pennine Way with the author, wishing it rained, just to add some hilarity and excitement. I am not saying it wasn't funny, just not as side-splittingly, tear-spillingly or embarrasingly giggly-on-the-bus-home amusing as the other two!

pennine walkies - Rated 5/5
This book was as humerous & entertainiung as previous books by this author. The antics of Mark Wallington & his canine friend Boogie make for an easy read that is difficult to put down.A humerous book but not much of a geography lesson on the Pennine Way.

Long distance walking for the couch-potato - Rated 5/5
The third book in the 'Boogie' trilogy is again a truly wonderful read. I admire Mark Wallington because of the way the reader is able to walk a long distance footpath without the need to get out of his armchair. Indeed, all the misfortunes he incurred in this and 'Travels with Boogie' are all the more amusing because it happened to him and not me! However, it is also because of these books that I have undertook sections of the Pennine Way (and South West Way) myself, though not with a dog. In summary, read it, laugh and go walking yourself - it's the only way to travel.
