Dull. Made me lose interest - Rated
This book was reasonably dull and made me lose interest quite easily.
It is about a girl called Kitty whose Mum gets a new boyfriends who she doesn't like. She uses her experiences to help another girl who is going through the same things.
Kind of Jacqueline Wilson style, which I don't like. Not very well written.
Goggle-eyes is a fantastic book to read. - Rated
Goggle-eyes. published by puffin. The story is set in a school in England. Kitty Killen a girl-is a good story teller. Helly Johnson a girl-is lost in the dark privacy cupboard. Gerald Falkner a boy-also known as goggle-eyes. People who have family problems and have unwanted boyfriends and stepfathers. The idea in the story is to try to stop your mum and dad from breaking up and getting divorced. I liked chapter one because Helly Johnson got very mardy and ran away from school to her house. I would recomend this book to my friends because it is exciting, funny and a good laugh.
a very intersting book and can't ever put it down - Rated
"my haert thumping with excitement and wanting to now more" this is the exact feeling it gave me and it would to you to if you read it. it is an excellent book and i reccomend it to any one aged between 7-13 approximatly if it is your kind of book. i was quite sad at the end of the book as i wanted the story to go on forever and ever. it is a story which you cannot forget and would want to read again and again. so i think you should buy it and give it a chance.
a great read for children aged 11-13 - Rated
This is a truely great book. It is a story about Kitty, whose mum and dad have split up and after a number of boyfriends, her mum then meets Gerald Faulkner(Gerald Faulkner), who Kitty absolutely hates. After getting to know Goggle-eyes Kitty realizes why she hates him so much and starts feeling mean. In the end Kitty begins to realize that Goggle-eyes isn't mean at all and starts to like him. The only thing wrong with it is how it is totally concerntated on Goggle-eyes. The 'slang' really makes you feel part of the story.
an easy book to relate to as it is based on social issues - Rated
I would reccomend this book to 10 year olds or above, she uses slang and uses charecters of our age(10/11)making it easy to relate to. It is based on an 11 year old girl whose parents have split up and the father is out of the picture but after numerous boyfriends her mum meets gerald faulkner , the most discusting, most annoying man she's ever met, in her opinion. he tries to bribe them with sweets and is conatantly having arguements about nuclear power( which kitty's mum is totally against, gerald is totally for.) Eventually after a long night of protesting at the nuclear power plant kitty's mum gets back in a police car in a terrible state. she's really stressed and ends up chucking him out...
