Cynical - Rated
This is a staggeringly awful book. Apparently it is impossible to award less than one star, but this book deserves zero.
I couldn't escape the feeling that it had been put together to cash in on the author's popularity and to sell the film rights. The characters were caricatures, utterly unbelievable; the dialogue made "Crossroads" seem like Shakespeare and the research and editing were shoddy. Neither my wife or I could work out at first what a "salapex" was - then it dawned that the author meant to say "salopettes".
It is true that we could not put it down - it exercised a dreadful fascination, like a car accident happening in slow motion.
I just had to give up - Rated
Has the heading says - I made it two thirds of the way through Still Thinking of You and found that I could not stand another moment reading about the self obsessed characters - even Tash (who is supposed to be normal) was extremely irritating - so I had to do what I hate to do and give up, pull the bookmark out and try and forget the irritating characters I had been reading about for the last few of days!
Having read Other Womans Shoes by Adele Parks, which I really enjoyed, I can't believe it was written by the same person!
If you're looking for something to read give this a miss life is too short!
A bit irritating! - Rated
Although this book was enjoyable enough and I read it through to the end I found it quire irritating. As someone else has written on here the characters were totally self obsessed all except Tasha who really was a bit too "lovely" to be true.
It seemed to go along fine and then the author would throw in a few "raunchy" sex scenes.... if this was meant to spice it up then for me it didnt they just seemed out of place.
Honestly, this is the kind of book that I think gives chick-lit a bad name!
Buy it for the beach, train or plane not if you want something to get your teeth into.....
love this book! - Rated
hi, i loved this book so much, it gets right to the nitty gritty of relationships between lovers , ex lovers, friends and your partners friends. An excellent read and the only bad thing i think is that rich doesnt stand up to jayne properly and tell her exactly what he thinks of her!very good though and long, which is alays good if a book is good, u dont want it to end!
Wow what a book! - Rated
Wow this book was brilliant. I'm not one for girly books an so when i grabbed this book in a hurry to take on holiday with me i didn't think i'd even get through the first few pages without getting bored. But i was so wrong i started reading it on the plane and i could not stop turning the pages. I was on holiday for a week and i had finished by my last day. It was funny, shocking, so close to reality just everything that makes a good book. I haven't read any of adele parkes other books but after this one i am definitely going to read all her others.
