Lovely story - Rated 5/5
A great, easy to read book. Perfect for a lazy day on the beach or a winter evening curled up with a glass of wine.
Lots of interesting characters and a good story. I read it in an evening, and though it doesn't require a lot of concentration - it is quite a page turner.

Superb - Rated 5/5
Fantastic from start to finish - Love on the Rocks follows the tale of when feisty ex-model Lisa and her stuffy architect boyfriend George take a chance on love and life and set up shop in the up and coming seaside resort of Mariscombe. From the moment Lisa smells Bruno Thorne (the handsome and mysterical local big cheese) in the bakers, we know that something is coming.. and when it does I was delighted. With superb supporting characters, and great hidden depths to the main characters, this is sure to be a Summer favourite of mine for years to come.

A feelgood read with depth and emotion - Rated 5/5
This is the second Veronica Henry I have read and I enjoyed this one much more, even, than Wild Oats. It's true - there are some tremendously likeable characters (three in particular but I won't give the game away)and some who act weakly and selfishly - but you do still care about their fates. I had tears in my eyes at some points, and I was rooting so much for the couples and other characters involved. I don't know why we should feel the need to keep apologising for enjoying a page-turning, fun, feel good read. If you want to read literary doom and gloom, don't order this book. But if you want an enjoyable, emotional and very well written book - get it, devour it and be proud of it!

Fancy a seaside getaway - Rated 4/5
I have read all of Veronica Henry's books and I really enjoyed all of them. So when I saw this one in the shops I knew I had to buy it!

I really liked the book but I did find it started slowly, but once your about 6 chapters in the pace picks up and you cant put it down.

If you're going for a weekend at the seaside I would take this with you!

So Much More Than Chick Lit - Rated 5/5
I have to be honest, when I bought this it was on the basis of the colourful cover and the blurb on the back, both of which made me believe I'd picked up a light chick-lit read in the style of Carol Matthews or Sophie Kinsella. How wrong I was!

This is the story of a couple who are trying to find themselves, each other and what they really want from life. And what they want isn't necessarily what they think they want. There are lots of other characters involved in the story, each and every one of them well developed with a personality of their own and I found myself caring about each of them. I can't say I necessarily liked them all, but I cared about the outcome for them. What I particularly enjoyed was the fact that each of them grew in some way. Only a very clever author can bring so many lives together and have each of them develop in an interesting manner.

This isn't a laugh a minute book although there are a few giggles and it's far from a deep read. It's thought provoking in places and several times it made me want to cry.

If you want something that offers a little more than chick lit but that's still an easy beach read, this one may well be exactly what you're after.
