disappointing.... - Rated Sorry, Marion, I usually love your work but this was tough going. The initial section, written in Lola's "voice" ,was virtually unreadable. I thought at first the book had just been very badly proofed but then worked out it was intended to be some sort of diary-style. The missing words made both Lola and everyone who contributed dialogue to her day sound as though they were speaking in broken English (Irish)! And even the font in those sections was irritating, is it in italic, is it not? I gave up after 80 pages and only returned when I had steeled myself to put up with all this! Such a shame, what I love about your books is the warmth and charm of the dialogue and thoughts of the characters, the technique you tried to use destroyed this. For Lola anyway. There is a good story in there, but the reader has to persevere. "Trust Marion". Hmmmm! a great read - Rated Marian you never let me down, you are a gifted story teller. This book really drew me in and I didn't see what was coming. Great once again - Rated The only problem with this book was that I had to wait so long to read it. It was sensitive, funny and cliffhanging. No disappointments whatsoever. Great, great, great. Can't wait for the next one, hope it's about the Walsh's though! love marian keyes - Rated i really love the way keyes marries witty writing with darker realism. Her narrative is fresh and engaging. I could not put this book down and read it each day from 4pm to 10pm to get to the end in record time for me. it is hard to get books which are entertaining and yet carry some weight of the stuff of real life within them. well done marian this was worth the wait. So So book from Marian - Rated I read this on holiday and it was an entertaining read, but I did find it hard when the chapters/characters started jumping around everywhere. I enjoyed the Lola chapters and didn't like wading through the Marnie chapters, so did not feel the book was consistent. Worth a look but not as good as some of her previous works.

i really love the way keyes marries witty writing with darker realism. Her narrative is fresh and engaging.
