dont waste your money - Rated
i have read many books about the holochaust and i have to say this is the worst one yet got to the end of the second chapter and refused to read any further. this book reminds me of storys i wrote back at primary school, over dramatic and far fetched you can tell it is made up not based on a true story. the language used and the emotions portrayed are non believable. dont waste your money best book to buy if you are interested in the holchaust and TRUE survival stories is Alicia:My story this book is truley sensational.

What a shame - Rated
If 'zitsuk' wants to write reviews, they should first check the spelling of their review - even the title of the book was spelt wrongly. I cannot have any respect for the views of an individual with such a poor grasp of English!
Different view of the halacaust - Rated
This is probably one of the few books which shows a different view of the Jew slavery in the concentration camps. The main girl is squisched into a small suburb along with other Jews. Soon they became even more and the girl cannot take it anymore so her grandmother and her leave together. They get cought with false pasports and soon get sent to concentration camps. There they get split up but the little girl visits her grandmother whenever she can. But one day she gets the chance of not living in those small baracks and work for the Germans instead. She is doubtful, very doubtful and if she accepts this happily or if she denys it to be able to continue visit her grandmother you'll have to read for yourself. But this is a great book for when you are interested in a view from the back about Jews. I really do recomend it.
A compelling yet frightening book - Rated
In this book, Hilary, a neo-nazi, is lying in the hospital critically injured when she begins to slip into the life of a polish-jewish girl named Chana during WWII. At first, when she is awake, she is angry and anti-semitic in her feelings, but gradually Chana's past becomes more real to her then her own, and when she thinks she(Hilary) is dying, she says the traditional prayer Jews say when dying (Shema). Alot about Hilary seems either vague or over stressed, but I think it works with the way Hilary thinks (in her mind she tends to exagerrate things about others so she can hate them). Her mother seems to be an over religious nut who doesn't care about her daughter, but that is how Hilary saw her. This is a great book and I'd recomend it for everyone.
