revealing and clear - Rated Hi, I have been reading this book for a while recently and its really helping me to understand the role of different types of vectors in calculations and why spanning 'vector spaces' is important. The stamp of this book is the quality brevity of new material. Once you crack the important 'proofs', the usage of the 'quadratic formula' in calculation, is little more than rearranging and simple division of a common factor, the next part for Ker, Domain and Codomain is clearly (to me) explained. The roles of `eigenvectors' in matrices are tidied up so reasonably. This has been so enjoyable to grasp and its clear (now) what's going on. This book is beautiful and priced so reasonably in its clarity and I rate it very highly for this level of study. If you have read `elementary algebra' this is a superb following book. A pretty good all-round text. - Rated Like most of the OUP mathematics texts, this book is clear and easy to follow. It is very useful for a second year undergraduate algebra course.
