Easy read - advice I found I could put into action straight away - Rated 5/5
Really enjoyed reading this book. It draws you in from the beginning with exercises and examples and as I read it I couldn't but start thinking about how her ideas apply to my jobs past and present. The case studies are good too - normal stories and common sense advice on how to respond to tricky situations like bullying. I like the author's work life philosophy too - whats so wrong with having a positive and kind approach in work anyway?? Sounds like job success to me! Buying a few more for friends. Want to read more - hope there is another one.

A great resource for HR Professionals - Rated 5/5
I really enjoyed this book. It is a postive and practical guide to addressing career change. I have recommended to it to several people, who have different career issues and the feedback has been very positive. It is a very useful resource for HR professionals.

Excellent read for anyone who wants to improve their working life! - Rated 5/5
I was toying with the idea of moving jobs recently and a friend recommended this book. I was unsure whether it was the right decision to leave my current position as I really enjoyed my job but there were certain issues that were getting me down. I had made no effort to rectify them as I really didn't know how to go about it! I read this book and it was great. The advice is practical and makes sense. I have started but never finished self-help books in the past as they were either too convoluted or just plain boring, this kept my interest all the way through. It is good solid advice and the most important thing is that it leaves you motivated!

stop complaining - Rated 5/5
I bought a copy of this book for myself and subsequently one for a friend who has returned to work part-time after maternity leave - she was complaining that her job since returning to work part-time wasn't as fulfilling and I thought she could do with the some of the practical advice I had used from this book. This book has stopped me 'complaining' and started me thinking. To be honest the ideas and strategies could be used for any part of your life. I found the ideas on better communication particularly imaginative and realistic.

One book you should give everyone you care about - Rated 5/5
This book is great. It was sent to me by a very good friend of mine who obviously thought it would benefit me... I began reading it late at night in bed and found I couldn't put it down! I don't normally read books like this, and I hadn't thought I was unhappy in my work, since I've recently started working for myself, doing the job I've always wanted to do. But the book really useful in helping me work out why it is I still find it difficult and how I can make it easier and be happier in my dream job. It's all very commonsense /practical but at the same time the author makes you think - well, I guess she's a psychologist so you might expect that. I found going through the exercises really illuminating and - bizarrely - rather fun. The one where you do a graph of all your previous employment and write down how happy you were, and then work out the reasons why, gives you a great framework for thought. I've bought a copy for my niece - she's only just started her first job but if the book gets her thinking about what she likes/doesn't like about her job and how she can change stuff herself (rather than quitting jobs like I tended to do, for the wrong reasons...) then she might take less time than I did in finding her perfect job/working environment.
