"Average Investing" - Rated I can see that this book would really appeal to those who are very new to the investment world, who would like basic investment terms explained, and who might be tempted to invest with the support of a financial advisor. What I'm not so sure about is the title. There's nothing really 'brilliant' or innovative here, and the advice on asset allocation will result in 'average' returns, albeit with reduced risk. The section on what the best investors -- Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Jesse Livermore -- 'do' and 'say' is very brief. In an nutshell: a great introduction for beginners; little or nothing for intermediates and experts. Tony Loton -- author, "DON'T LOSE MONEY! (in the Stock Markets)" and "Financial Trading Patterns" An excellent book - Rated This is an excellent book for anyone wishing to make good investment decisions. Martin's books are all very readable and in this one he covers all of the main points about investing in a way that will not intimidate the novice. That said, there are also plenty of tips for more experienced investors. The main thrust of the book is in giving the reader sufficient information to be able, with or without professional help, to make better (perhaps even 'brilliant'!) investment decision. This goal is comfortably achieved. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent book for anyone wishing to make good investment decisions. Martin's books are all very readable and in this one he covers all of the main points about investing in a way that will not intimidate the novice. That said, there are also plenty of tips for more experienced investors.

The main thrust of the book is in giving the reader sufficient information to be able, with or without professional help, to make better (perhaps even 'brilliant'!) investment decision. This goal is comfortably achieved.

Highly recommended.
