Even though i m addicted to the excellent course "reading Latin" by Jones and Sidwell, I have to say that "Learn to read Latin" is excellent, brilliantly organised and provides crystal clear explanations.
the course consists of a textbook along with a workbook, providing masses of exercices straight from the start.
also, no made up sentenses here. You re dealing with classical writers all the time.

my only major regret : no corrections at all are provided, so not really suitable for self study. BUT... no worries, Independent learners may apply to the authors themselves if they want to get hold of the answer key. That's how I did it . There a link at collegiateschool.org . and they are ever so friendly .. They send you the answer key in no time at all ..

but otherwise, this is a VERY GOOD textbook, perfect for self studies, and a great way to discover and study latin. The bext textbook I ve had in my hands for ages..
