A Classic - Rated I missed the opportunity to read Bloom County when it was first published in the newspapers as I was too young and not American. But I did read this when I was growing up and I still pick up this collection when I need a laugh. As in the previous collection 'Five Years of Naughtiness' the characters and the storylines are funny. And whilst Breathed won a Pulitzer for this work, it is not overly political. The storylines are out of this world including Bill the Cat's body being used as repository for Donald Trumps brain and my favourite Oliver Wendall Jones's Scalp Tonic Cure. When the scalp tonic is deemed illegal the price of it goes through the roof and Oliver and the rest of the team become rich until the government legalise it again. This is just a classic of the genre and something to read and enjoy again and again.
