Two year old's view - Rated I purchased this activity book for my two year old grandson, who adores "Room on the Broom" almost as much as I do. I was disappointed that the majority of the activities were too advanced for a two year old. He enjoyed the sticker sections but is not quite ready for word search or picture matching. This is a beautifully presented book,more suitable for slightly older children. Room on the Broom - Rated This is such a lovely book and I have bought it for various children as a Halloween gift over the years. Text and illustrations are prefect for the youngsters to understand and cherish and to talk about over and over. Long may the collaboration of Julia and Axel continue. Great book and the CD was a bonus! - Rated Room on the Broom is probably my son's favourite of the Julia Donaldson books, largely because it features a witch, and a dragon (two must-haves for any successful book for him at the moment!). The illustrations are fantastic - it's always worth getting the large picture book version of a Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler. The rhyming story and the repetitive rhythms when you read it aloud are another reason why this book is excellent for reading to young children. This edition came with an interactive CD-ROM. Amongst other things, this features an audio version of the story, which highlights the relevant words on the computer screen as you listen to it. This is ideal for my four year old, who is just starting to learn his first few words. There are also a couple of simple computer games (another thing he is just starting to get into!) and various things you can print off (posters etc), and some screensavers. This was a book that my son was starting to grow out of - but the CD has extended his interest in it - I think it may even be one he now wants to learn to read for himself. Sometimes versions of children's books that include a CD-ROM can prove to be a waste of additional money - but I thought this one was excellent. Could read it over and over - Rated This quickly became a family favourite (although our little one is too young to know it!). The rhyme and repetition make this story a joy to read and the illustrations are brilliant. I could read this book to my son every night and not get fed up. gruffalo's child - Rated Suitable for any child (or granny!) who is a fan of the original book ..however it is not nearly as good as the ***** original, The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child
