I'm a bit disapointed with it. We have almost all of her others and I'd say this is the weakest. Shame because the story could be brilliant!!

Gorgeous Book - Rated
This is a beautifully illustrated and well written children's book. Quite different to Julia Donaldson's better-known and rather formulaic Gruffalo-style books it is a delightful story written in charming couplets. Heavenly reading for children between 18 months to 3 years.

Good all rounder - parent or teacher. - Rated
As a parent and a teacher I found this book an absolute gem. The story may have few words but the rhythm, rhyme and repetition that characterise Julia Donaldson's work are all here. The illustrations lend themselves to lots of discussion and my two year old keeps me on my toes with his observations. I have also used it in the classroom as the use of verbs at the end of each page is fantastic for literacy work.

Too young for a 3 year old - Rated
I bought this book because we own every other Julia Donaldson book, but this one is aimed at a younger age than most of the others.
I had to make up the story for my little girl as the book is short on words, I know some would say this is a benefit, not when your 3 year old wants you to point out every word as you read it.
Its now being passed on the local libary.
