I have read a lot of books about spirituality. This one is very different, very practical and I have found here the answers I were looking for, it is really a powerful book, I highly recommend it!
disillusionment - Rated
As Nd Hiett "silversable062" said, I bought this book expecting some detailed information about the beliefs of the Kabbalists, and in particular the Tree of Life, which is what I've been told the whole belief structure is based upon.
Unfortunately I found it hard to even begin to enjoy reading this, and barely gained any new information at all regarding their metaphysical beliefs. The low standard of writing made it difficult to read; which I know is because it is aimed at everybody, but there was little need for the endless scenarios page after page to drive a point that could have been made in one sentence. Oh, and most of the time, these scenarios didn't even make coherent sense!.. Well, not to me anyway (although I was looking for information rather than enlightenment, so that could have been my downfall).
waste of money - Rated
i bought this book with the hope that i'd have an insight into kabbalah, instead i got a protentious collections of writings which are far from profound and have an over use of exclamation marks. this book contains more of a doorway into a cult rather than the occult.
an easy warning on the quality of this book is to see that such people as madonna have commented on how great the text is, this further backs my hate for the woman. if you want a profound text pick up any book with the dali lama or anything on by Idries Shah.
in short this book is awful, so much that i binned it. only buy if you enjoy commercial thinking, or love madonna.

Most people who are involved in Kabbalah are "blinded" by their spirituality and their focus on spiritual growth. They mean well, but the Berg's Kabbalah organization is very much a cult. Yes. A cult.
The sad thing is that most people involved in Kabbalah don't even know they are in a cult (but isn't that the nature of a cult anyway?), that is until they've spent several thousand dollars or so on their kabbalistic spiritual growth (e.g., taking kabbalah classes, buying expensive kabbalah jewelry and the red string, purchasing kabbalah books, etc.).
In other words, Kabbalah is basically a very successful and systematic money making machine.
And according to the Berg's Kabbalah organization, this is quite alright. Making money is certainly acceptable, especially when the money is spent on spiritual growth. Yes, the logic makes sense, but when you no longer have money to spend on Kabbalah and are unwilling to work -- basically for free -- then Kabbalah has no time for you. You are treated differently.
In other words, you need money to practice Kabbalah.
Kabbalah also works on the egos of people. Especially celebrities. Because everyone basically wants to feel special. Particularly if you are seeking spiritual answers. Spiritual people simply want to feel spiritually special. And Kabbalah will do this as long as you have the money to support Kabbalah.
But it's only a matter of time before this organization loses its luster. People can only be fooled for so long. Even with the best of intentions.
A wonderful book!!! - Rated
This is an interesting book. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for spiritual answers. I actually like the first version a little more. The updated book now being sold is slightly different, but the underlying message is still the same.
You may also not agree with everything in this book and that's OK, but take whatever you get and simply make it yours. You don't have to become a follower of Kabbalah to put some of the ideas into practice. Try it. You may like it!
