A brilliant tongue in cheek concept from the author of the Bunny Suicides. Delivered in the form of black and white illustrations, such lies as 'wine makes mummy clever' and 'It is unlucky not to name every ant you see' will have any adult, parent or not, chuckling to themselves. Obviously nobody would ever seriously suggest the theories to any wide-eyed innocent, although.....Features Pages x 21 13.5 x 18.5cm {OTHER_IMAGES.VALUE}{/*} {*/}

Customer Reviews

Very funny and just the tiniest bit cruel.. - Rated 5/5
Great lies to tell small kids reminds me of the old Silvey Jex bad taste joke books from the 1980's. Visitors to my loo always comment on how funny this book is!

Very funny - Rated 5/5
Read if you are a primary school teacher and decide which lies you could get away with

One of life's simple pleasures - Rated 4/5
This is a lovely book.
Our children (ages 8 and 6) are at the perfect age for the sort of lies this book contains. I'd recommend this book for anyone who likes humour at the expense of the gullibility of children - and that's most people. There are some read gems here and I first came across the cartoons in this book on birthday cards.
Always a pleasure and laugh-out-loud at times - recommended.

My second worst present this Christmas! - Rated 1/5
Why do people buy these books? Every Christmas I receive one or two and they all end up in the bin within two minutes. This year I was unfortunate enough to receive two 'funny' books of which this was one. The book is incredibly poor value for money and not even remotely chuckle worthy. If you are so devoid of imagination as to think super slim, written for Christmas humour books are a good option at this time of year then think again.

Pitiful, abysmal, rock-bottom - Rated 1/5
This is possibly the very worst 'humour' book I've ever seen, without a single spark of anything that's remotely funny, imaginative or (heavens forefend) intelligent. Not only did it not make me or anyone else of my acquaintance even smile, we were depressed after reading it to think such stuff should get anywhere near print. Barely worth writing a review about but just to spare anyone else the disappointment. Was going to give it as a stocking stuffer but certainly won't, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
