Customer Reviews

4,5 stars for this book - Rated 4/5
This was the first book I've read from Sophie Hannah and for me was great debue.

This is a story of a woman who loves a man unconditionally even though he's a married man. When he fails one of their encounters, she knows that he's missing and she'll do everything in her power to find him.

This is a very good thriller and I was very much surprised through out the book and the ending, that was the best! I couldn't figure it out...

Because of this book I'll read more of Sophie, I'm really curious about Little Face and Point of Rescue.

Slow start but great when it gets going - Rated 4/5
After the first couple of chapters this became a very gripping thriller. Where is Robert Haworth and why does his wife deny he is missing? The plot becomes more and more intriguing and there are some very clever twists and turns. Whilst I also enjoyed 'Little Face' I thought this novel was even better and I am looking forward to reading the next!

In two minds about this one..... - Rated 4/5
This book is more complex than the rear cover summary suggests - it is much more than a case of an unfaithful husband (Robert) disappearing.

There are two female protagonists and both have serious issues. One is Naomi, Robert's mistress who reports him missing, and the other is Charlie, a policewoman who becomes involved in the case. Some of the book is related in the first person as Naomi talks to Robert, with the balance, including Charlie's tale, delivered in the third person.

The story is reasonably well-written and is full of twists, turns and interesting developments. But the pyramid of coincidences Hannah builds in creating the plot takes much of the shine away. Some were just plain silly : I mean, really, how could anyone mis-type `31' for `72' on a keyboard, while doing a search, to then uncover a critical clue in the case?

In short, an exciting story which could have been much more credible.

Unputdownable chiller! - Rated 4/5
Nasty, very nasty - but totally unputdownable!
When Naomi reports her lover Robert as missing it starts off a whole chain of events that are more interconnected that any one person in the chain could know. The twists and turns and revelations are skilfully handled in this chilling thriller.

brillant, taut pyschological thriller - Rated 4/5
I read this after 'little face' and have to say i couldnt put it down. i had to find out what it was all about. i have to say i did prefer the characters and story of little face and felt that there was more tension in that book than this one but it's still a very creepy, exciting thriller but i would recommend 'Little Face' first.
