Be Careful What You Wish for - Rated 3/5
I experimented with this book because the theme resonated with me. Though i did pick it up with a lot of gusto i must say i was not overly enthusiastic about resuming my reading once i had put it down. The first 50 pages or so are slow, it feels as though the author is trying hard to make things sound funny. However after the first 50-70 pages the book picks up pace and naturally makes you want to know what happens next. I specially like the end where fantasy meets reality (Don't want to spoil the fun!). All in all a light read ideal for quiet night-in or to kill time.

EXCELLENT READ! - Rated 5/5
Great book, very entertaining, just wanted to keep reading. Lovely plot, lovely style of writing, and funny. Very much like the Shopoholic books, if you like them you will love this.

Becareful what you wish for - Alexandra Potter - Rated 5/5
I bought me and mr darcy and fell in love with Alexandra Potter's writing. Alexandra has the writing power to take you away from everything and that was she did again in this book. I loved the character Heather and her house mate Gabe the "wanna be stand up comic". Great book, would recommend it to anyone!

Sensitive, touching and very romantic - Rated 5/5
I had never read an Alexandra Potter book before this one and to be honest I only bought it because it had been recommended to me due to my love of other chick-lit such as Sophie Kinsella and Belinda Jones.

That said, I got into the book straight away, its the story of Heather Hamilton who buys some lucky heather one rainy day in London just to escape a gypsy woman and then finds that everything she starts to wish for, such as getting a seat on the tube, finding the perfect man and the sun always shining all come true. Is it just coincidence or does the lucky heather really work? Or does having everything you wish for make you truly happy.

Heather has to work all this out for herself in the end and this book does not disappoint. It has great characters that you really care about, it's extremely funny, it's sad and touching in places and it flows along so well that once you start it, you just want to carry on reading it until it's finished. Except when you get to the end, you don't actually want the book to end.

A great, great book, I definitely want to read more of Alexandra's novels and hope they can live up to this one. A real find. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wishing For More - Rated 5/5
I've been a fan of Alexandra Potter's writing for quite some time now and this book didn't dissapoint.
We've all sat there and wished for things without really thinking it through, i know i do it every day. Which is exactly the situation the lead character finds herself in after buying some lucky heather from a gypsy. She carries on her normal life wishing for things left, right and centre, slowly beginning to realise that they come true. Is it just luck, the norm, or the lucky heather. Well dear reader, to find that out you'll have to purchase the book. Or you could just wish for a copy ;-)
