Kippers Balloon is our son's all time favourite - Rated We bought our son Kipper's Balloon for his first Christmas and even when under a year old he was captivated. As with all of Mick Inkpen's books the illustrations are delightful, but the pop-ups just add to this. We have always kept this as a "best" book to be read by us, or by him under supervision, as pop-up books, especially animated ones such as this are, by their very nature, a little fragile. Please do not let this put you off buying this book as we feel that it has been one of the best books that we have ever bought for him. Our son is now nearly four and still requests this book, which is now casting its spell on his baby brother, too! Oh, and the "surprise" on the last page still makes him giggle! Kipper's Balloon - Rated My 2 year old son enjoys this book immensely. With pop up pictures and pull out tabs, it is an enchanting story. Having bought several of Mick Inkpen's Kipper books, we like this one the best. Over (paper) engineered - Rated Don't buy this book, especially if you intend that it is read by small children. Instead spend your money on "Where oh where is Kipper's bear" or "Wibbly Pig's Garden" or any other of Mick Inkpen's fantastic books. The problem with Kipper's Balloon is simply that the pop-ups in this book are too complicated and as a result several are too fiddly to operate (even by an adult).

We bought our son Kipper's Balloon for his first Christmas and even when under a year old he was captivated. My 2 year old son enjoys this book immensely. With pop up pictures and pull out tabs, it is an enchanting story. Having bought several of Mick Inkpen's Kipper books, we like this one the best.
