A good 'follow-on' from the `Famous Lives/Famous People' series, for an older child. - Rated
From the popular DEAD FAMOUS series of books `Inventors and their Bright Ideas`.
`If it wasn`t for whoever it was who invented reading and whoever else invented introductions, you wouldn`t be reading this introduction now. It`s a stunning thought, isn`t it? Good old inventors - you can probably think of loads of them and the great things they invented.....The thing is, dead famous inventors have got a bit of a tendency not to have done what they`re famous for. This book is just full of surprises like that (not to mention a talking dog)......there's more to being an inventor than being first to think something up.......'
207 pages, split into chapters:-

Inventors and Their Bright Ideas - Rated
This book was quite interesting, giving a detailed description of several famous and not so famous inventors of many devices we use today. It had both facts and fun, but somewhat lacked the upbeat quality of other Dead Famous books. However, this is a good read for you and educational for your child. Definitely worth the money!
