After all the heartbreak that Amy has already gone through you would have thought that it could be left there but in this tear jerking book Amy is put through yet more heartbreak as she has to make a heartbreaking decision about her mothers old friend and fathers brave and couragious showjumper Pegasus. Amy has to let go of the past move on but only true courage and outstanding bravery could carry Amy through the pain she has to endure in this book.

As soon as I'd read the first few lines I was once again in the world of Heartland. Amy has already been through so much you would think her troubles would be at an end, but, Amy is left with a hard a hard choice; something she needs to do to save Heartland forever.
This book in the series is my favourite, you have all the old characters but you really feel and believe them. It had me crying laughing and wanting more. You want to be at Heartland and you feel part of Heartland.

Breaking Free is an excelent book which captures your heart. It will make you laugh and cry. The situation is good because you can base around it eg Amy is 15 years old and has had to take over her mums job, when she died in a car accident. Now all that she has left of her past is Pegasus and slowly he is dieing. She deperstly wants to keep Pegasus but she doesn't know how to help. A very touching book.

I think this book is a great book about the sruggles of everyday life with horses and the heartbreaks that go with it. It also teaches about about using natural medicine to cure illness instead of useing modern medicine.

I am 11 years old and I got this book at a school book fair. I'm not crazy about horses so I didn't know if I would like it. Boy, was I wrong. This book was great. I read it and immediately ordered the other two in the Heartland series. While the book is based around horses, it is really about working through the bad times in life and becoming stronger as a result. I would recommend this book to anyone my age.
