A bit of Stuart in us all... - Rated
This book is funny, but not roll in the floor, rib-aching kind of funny. But like all comedic books I have come to enjoy, I found it pleasant, good-natured humor. The book is written in the first person view of an extremely neurotic, yet very likeable, middle-aged man. I actually found much of this book to be rather poignant, especially with regard to dysfunctional relationships. I think I picked up some personal survival skills from this book, too. I won't elaborate on that, but I recommend this book to all. It'll make you smile, and you're bound to learn some good things from it. Having read "Why Not Me", which I did find to be hilarious, I wish this man would do more writing than he does.

Light reading for the terminally bored - Rated
I wish I knew the return policy at Amazon. This book was not as good as I expected. His Stuart routine is great on television, but loses a lot in print. This book has about a paragraph per page.

I wish I'd gotten the Making of the Al Franken Presidency instead. And I don't understand the other reviews here. Is Franken getting his friends to write reviews? Boring stuff.

hilarious. - Rated
This book was hilarious. My husband and I took turns reading it aloud to each other, and would have to stop reading, we were laughing so hard. It brought laughter to the point of tears. I still laugh when I hear the title.

Funny, inspiring and painfully real for anyone in recovery - Rated
I loved this book. It was such an inspiration that I wrote a follow-up meditation book myself for other "alphabet sufferers" such as AA, ACOA, ADHD, CODA, OA and others. Of course I sent it out to Dell publishing but never enclosed an SASE which I later learned is mandatory...I'm so stupid...no that is negative stinkin' thinkin' I made a mistake. And that's o.k. because like Stuart says I am good enough, I am smart enough and doggone it people like me. I am so much like Stuart it's scary. The meditation tape is equally as good (and totally different from the book.) If you tend to take yourself too serious and need to lighten the load a bit get this book. It helps!

Uniquely funny - Rated
I didn't think an entire book based on an SNL character had a chance, but this book is hilarious! I re-read it whenever I need cheering up and I end up laughing out loud every time. A real winner.
