Good book but was expecting just a little bit more - Rated
I bought this book after reading some positive reviews and have to say that I totally agree with the majority of them. The crossing and the double crossing and the murders that are contained in this book are unbelievable, The Rosenberg Murder sticks in the memory in particular. The book, as good as it was though, was missing something but cannot put my finger on it. A good thing about the book is that it contains details about an individual crew, something that is not always available in Cosa Nostra books and instead they sometimes focus on an entire family. overall worth a read especially if you need info on the Murderous antics of the Demeo crew
Strange! - Rated
I read murder machine about 2 years ago and I though it was an interesting story. Recently I read Albert Demeo's book - for the sins of my father - about his life with his Dad, Roy Demeo. It is interesting to get a different perspective on Roy and read about how he was a good Dad. It makes it quite hard to believe he was capable of the acts told in Murder Machine. Murder machine is a good read but make sure and read Albert's book to get a different view of Roy, Dominick and the rest of Demeo and Gaggi crew.

It gives you a good insight into almost every character in the book.It leads you along with the frightening progression of some of the crew members from their childhood to their very end.I can honestly say i saw roy de meo in at least one of my dreams while i was reading this book.Thats a reference to buy this gem alone and how much will it cost 12 dollars or something get this fast i can only advise you to.
This book is great - Rated
Ive read many mafia books, and this is definitely one of the good ones. The story is mainly told from Domicks point of view, but there are also other informants as well as police detectives who also give some input which is why I believe you get a good reflection of who Roy Demeo was.
The book tells the story of a crew of car thiefs and murderers from Brooklyn. In addition to selling stolen cars Demeo moved drugs, and anything that made money. Overall Demeo and his crew were good earners for the family.
Every single member of Demeo's crew were stone cold killers, whos services were even for hire. They loved to killed, and some of the things in this book are quite scary at times. Some of the killings they done were to expand business, others were impulsive. Nonetheless, they left a massive body count, although I do believe the final body count for this crew was exagerated by the NYPD.
Its a great book, and shows a darker side to brooklyn faction of the Gambino family, headed by Castelano.
Quite boring - Rated
It's an average book at best. The lead character we follow is Dominick Montiglio, nephew to the Gambino Capo, Anthony Gaggi, loyal to the Castellano side of the Family. Montiglio tells his story, seeking pity and then ultimately his decision to rat and plays the victim. He's a very boring guy and most of the book is tiresome to get through. There's plenty of good books on the Mafia I'd choose before reading this.
