Specific Modelling Technique / Approach Explained - Rated
As a coach who has been involved in the personal development industry for some time, what appeals to me very specifically in Chris' book, is his very specific step-by-step explanation on how to go about gathering information on individuals you want to model, and then his detailed explanation on how to integrate that knowledge so that you can utilise it.
I have personally used his approach to 'Genius Reading' titles on individuals I wished to model aspects of, and have guided many of my clients to taking the same approach. Most of them were so intrigued that they wanted to know a little more - and many now own the book themselves.
If you have read much on NLP, Rapport building, etc (by Tony Robbins or others for example), then some of the material will be re-enforcing. If however, you have never covered these topics, then this will be a good introduction.
One area that Chris could have been a little more explicit on is providing the reader with the specific questions they should be asking themselves when reading the material about the individuals they wish to model. He very clearly explains what you need to look for, yet there is still a subtle shift that the reader needs to make from knowing what to look for, to explicitly asking themselves the questions upfront to prime their subconscious mind for the exercises. (Chris could possibly have provided a list of questions for the reader to ask themselves).
eg Chris advises that we should look for the Individual's Meta-Programs (and gives a good explanation on what that is), however, what would really 'switch on' the sub-conscious is if the reader were to EXPLICITLY ask themselves up-front "What are [Warren Buffett's / Oprah's] Meta-Programs?" The mere act of asking the question outright, prepares the mind in advance for what to look for.
I DEFINITELY give this book the thumbs-up!
