Think very carefully before you read this book - Rated
I thought I was prepared for this book after reading birdman, and its true it is well written and so on. I couldn't finish it however. I have two small boys and the subject matter sickened me to my stomach. I challenge the appropriateness of using extreme sexual and violent abuse of small boys as entertainment. I also think that this kind of writing would give susceptible people ideas. I think this book is irresponsible and frankly gives us glimpses into a mind (ie the author's) that scares me very much. I'm very glad she's not my mother and that I don't know her and never will. I wonder what she thinks she is achieving?
Another brilliant offering - Rated
I read this book after reading Birdman. It is another superb offering by this author and features DI Caffery once again. This book is quite disturbing but it's another great British crime read. It's a definate page turner and will make you want to read more and more.
Unputdownable - Rated
This is an absolutely fantastic read and is the second in the DI Jack Caffrey books; the first one being Birdman. We get to find out what happened to Ewan, Jack's brother and it is a most shocking and absorbing story. I have to say Jack is a wonderful copper but did miss some vital clues along the way: some of the time I was shouting at the book to tell him to listen!! Hugely enjoyable.

I couldnt put it down,once i read it i had to read it again and hoping the ending would have change and he found Ewan but the ending was the same as before hehe.....Cant wait for the 3rd installment...
Disturbing but compelling - Rated
This is probably the most shockingly disturbing books that I have ever read. It literally kept me up at night. If you can get past that, it's utterly thrilling. I couldn't wait to get home from work to carry on reading it and find out what happened next.... will they find the family in time??? Will Jack find out the truth after all these years about hs brother Ewan??? And will Rebecca and Jack get past their own demons and save their relationship??? I can't say that I loved it as it was too disturbing a book to be loved but it most certainly compelled me to read on and on and on....
