I never knew history was so fun! - Rated
I found this book really interesting. i was reluctant to read it first because i usually find history really boring but as soon as i picked up this book i couldn't put it down! Terry Deary brings history to life with humour and cartoony drawings that show what it was like back then in a great way! After i read this i read 8 more horrible histories and found them all equally good and i recomend it to everyone ages 6 - 12.
Excellent education for children (and adults alike!) - Rated
This book gives mounds of historical knowledge without the normal boring text. My son has enjoyed each of the horrible history books, learning a massive amount of our history without even realising it! They are funny, well written and illustrated in an English jargon that children easily relate to. My son wouldn't part with any of them!
Woah, nice book! - Rated
That was an especially great book, it is really funny including the cartoons. Like when this guy called Harold was going to give a guy called William the Conqueror his kingdom when he died, but he never did. There is a cartoon in which he says, "You can have my kingdom", but then at the same time he thinks "You can also have a flying pig, a blue elephant, and a trip to planet ping-pong." This story was originally told by Norman historians (in their own words of course). They wanted to show that William was the rightful King of England and that King Harold was a a rotten cheat. There is also a lie section and a poison section in this book. And what did the ladies do to look pretty? Read this book to find out. P.S nightshade is a deadly plant.
