The combination of Tolkein's magnificent story-telling, the BBC's reputation for producing quality drama, and some wonderful music from Stephen Oliver must surely make this the best ever radio drama production. It has as great an effect on me now as it did when I first heard it 20 or so years ago. The Battle of the Pelennor Fields set to music is such an incredible emotional experience.
