I seem to have fallen into the same trap as other people.
Ok, if you're new to the whole hanjie thing, then I suppose this book is great, and you can carry it with you everywhere too.
But if you're already familiar with how hanjie work then please please DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!
The puzzles are all exactly the same size, 15 x 20, even though the image on the front is a 25 x 25- this is very misleading, as it implies variety, which there is not. There are three difficulties, but to be honest, they're all much of a muchness, and I can count the number of puzzles that actually made me think on one hand.
Any hanjie veterans out there should bypass this book without so much as a backwards glance, favouring instead one of two options: either the hanjie puzzle magazines sold in WHSmith (expensive, but the super hanjie ones last me months), or Paint-Doku by Conceptis puzzles, (excruciatingly dumbed down title for the masses) which is available here for 25p more than this book, is bigger, spiral-bound and has 182 puzzles, making it much better value for money. It includes a proper introduction as well as some smaller puzzles to get you into the swing, and the last puzzles in the book are 50 x 60- a much better challenge!

The cover shows a 25 x 25 grid
but all the puzzles are only 15 x 15
Ah well , never judge a book by its cover
READ THIS BEFORE BUYING - Rated
Before buying this book, check that you do not already own a book called 'Hanjie', written by the same author, with a WHITE cover. The cover shows a hanjie puzzle with some red squares. I have asked you to do this because this is EXACTLY THE SAME book, only with a different cover. I made the mistake of buying this, only to realise that I already owned it.
If you don't, this is a nice book with some interesting designs. The idea of this puzzle is to solve which squares are white, and which are black (Instructions are given in the book). These black and white squares eventually form pictures when the puzzle is completed.
The downside to this puzzle book is that all of the puzzles are the same size. Normally smaller puzzles are easier, and larger puzzles are more difficult, but there are no different sizes in this book. This means that the pictures in the puzzles are limited to this one size. This also means that with a few of the puzzles it is hard to tell what the pictures are.
Although saying this, this is a good book for begginners or novices, as even the hardest puzzles are not very difficult. If you love sudoku or Kakuro, you'll love this as it requires the same kind of logical thinking.
