Great work on the few poems it covers - Rated It's a good study aid, with notes on themes and relevant background information on Dickinson's life. It's useful to kick-start a thought process, but unfortunately only deals with a limited amount of poems. Useful but as the title suggests it is only selected poems - Rated A very detailed summary on the poems that are reviewed and also very helpful. The book covers all aspects from Dickinson's unique style of writing to her background in puritain New England. This book also covers the area of why Dickinson's poetry was so meloncholic, although not in great detail. This is purely a study guide and not for reading purposes.
