An excellent book, a good intro. for grown-ups too. - Rated 
This is an excellent book, funny and nearly always right on the nail (yeah, OK, so there are some mistakes - look, we all make mistakes, OK?) So it's a little bit heavier than some of his others - so it's maybe aimed at the more intelligent, with it, going-somewhere person. I loved Cutter Whey Castle, two miles west (sic) of Blackpool. And his summary of 'The Song of Roland' is BRILLIANT.

This book is another one that adds to the extensive collection by Terry Deary. This book is full of funny and fascinating facts about knights from all different areas of time and the castles they lived in. Ths book is great for history lessons because it is packed full of facts. The book starts of with an introduction about history and then goes on to give a great time line which shows all the different areas in history about knights and castles. There are lots of different sections about the different parts of this subject including terrific tournaments, Battles and blood, Dreadful dungeons and Creepy castles. All the way throuhg this book there are funny illustrations by Philip Reeve which give you a great feel of what was going on then. One of my favourite parts in the book is the castle quiz which give you information about subjects like the ways the defenders used to throw water over the castle walls to try and stop the attackers climbing up. Overall I think this book is very funny but it can also be useful for anyone interested in this history subject.

I thought Dark Knights and Dingy castles was far too boring. Considering all the books Terry Deary has wrote this is the worst one as it just went on and on. Even though there were funny jokes in it, the content was not very good.

This book gives you an insight into the life of knights throughout the ages and how the customs and battle strategies changed. The book also tells you about ghosts, dungeons and Lords/Ladies of the manor over the centuries. This book makes history fun!
