Wonderful - Rated 5/5
Clearly the result of many year's work and research, the Atlas of Middle-Earth has all the background info on Tolkien's world that a person could ever want, ranging from the very creation of Middle-Earth to the Fourth Age. Put simply, if you are a fan of Tolkien, this must have a place on your bookshelf.

precious - Rated 5/5
Beautifull illustrated maps, with interesting comments and notes. Things you hadn't even thought about are in it, climate in middle-earth, a map from menegroth, moria, ..., an endless list of beautifull, unseen maps. Only downside I think is the colors of the maps. There isn't much color, and this gives it an authentic touch, very nice. But sometimes you can't clearly see what is meant with what arrow since the means of making different arrows are limited. But everything else makes it definitly worth to be bought. The Climate of middle earth, rock types, average speed of the fellowship per day, ...

Excellent - Rated 5/5
although i've only just got this book i've been pleasantly surprised. The diagrams are not in colour but i think they look better because of this. There is text that goes with each map and the 2 chapters that interest me most (hobbit and LOTR)are detailed. I'm NOT a keen tolkein fan but am working my way through the LOTR and this book will make that read so much better. Recommended!

The Best Cartographic Companion to Middle Earth - Rated 5/5
Frankly indispensable to any true lover of Tolkien. I would not be without this book. It can be used as a companion when reading Tolkien or as something to dip into whenever you feel like a dose of Middle Earth.

My Indispensible Companion when reading LOTR - Rated 5/5
I keep this beautiful book nearby when I am reading any of Tolkien's books, I am inspired to read LOTR through once a year, Christopher Lee's declaration that he does this, strikes me as a worthy idea, and the Atlas of Middle Earth is simply essential. A character for myself? I believe I see myself as Lobelia Baggins I am not really too tall for a Hobbit
