An excellent study aid to media students everywhere. - Rated 'Media Studies: texts, institutions and audiences' is a concise study aid for media students. It covers virtually the whole media degree spectrum. I have found it to be an invaluable source for reference, revision and for explaining clearly and coherently the topics covered in media lectures. Written by university media lecturers, the book includes the aspects important to media students and less of the irrelevant information found in other media textbooks. The authors also use the terminology relevant to students thus making it one of the best study aids I have come across. The only thing that could possibly improve the book further would be a bit more depth in a few chapters. However, the book includes all the most important parts and the parts that are most essential for revision. There is also a section in the book that gives advice on how to write a good essay on each topic and which parts to study for exams and timed assessments. If there is anything that you have not understood in lectures but have not asked about then you are more than likely to find it explained in here. The excellant index will make it easy to find what you are looking for. I would definately reccommend it as one for the reading list for universities' libraries and media students alike.
