cheap, but lacking content - Rated
This books covers the basics of fencing and I mean the VERY basics. Probably good for someone who has just started watching it, but its doesnt describe a lot of the moves so if you are a keen spectator or even a new player to the sport, then this book is not very helpful. However it has some good illustrations and so is a good introduction.

A very useful reference book, but not all you need - Rated
This book is very useful as a quick reference guide for a beginner or their coach, but as it is so small and short it lacks the majority of the moves you use after only a short while. The diagrams are very helpful, giving both left and right handed people good ideas for what they should be doing. Very good on the general information, lacking on detail, excellent for when you forget what that one thing is called!

Small book, but crucial info. - Rated
This is a thin weedy book, but the content speaks volumes. Having fenced for 20 years, this is still a must for the library, covering on-guard positions, foot-work and lots more this is great for the beginner, but equally essential for the expert as a reference tool.

A good place to start - Rated
This book is an excellent choice for the non-fencer who wants to know a little about the sport. It gives a basic introduction to the sport itself and the different weapons used. It is too small to go into great detail but that is not its purpose.

If you are already a fencer this book will be of little or no use to you. Instead, the novice/experienced fencer would be better off looking at other more comprehensive works.
