Misplaced faith - Rated
I was taught by Prof Andrew at Cambridge University in 2002-3. I recall in one lecture he passed around photocopies of the British government's newly published dossier on Iraq's WMDs. I can remember him saying "You can be certain that if the Joint Intelligence Committee has put this information into the public domain they will be absolutely sure of it". He doesn't seem to have learned.

This book contains huge amounts of information which will be very useful, but it is underpinned by Prof Andrew's faith in the propriety of British intelligence officers. MI5 chose Prof Andrew to write this book because it already knew where his sympathies lie (it is an intelligence agency after all). So that's what you get.

Defence of the Realm - Rated
Well written in away that held one's attention. A great deal of detail of events and the people involved but very interestingly recorded.

A pity that over 20 pages were very poorly printed and therefore difficult to read. I suppose I could have returned it but couldn't face the packaging and posting involved.

Birthday book review - Rated
All went well, the book was delivered speedily to the address and my daughter in law thought it was a wonderful birthday present

The things you always wondered about... - Rated
If you remember the 60's, 70's or 80's; if you remember the Miners Strike.......If you always wondered if so-and-so worked for the Russians - or should have done - read this book. - this hefty book is both readable and enjoyable - well worth reading!

Size matters - Rated
Very heavy to hold and read. Perhaps it should have been published in several volumes.
