Classic Nicholas - Rated This is the second of four books about Nicholas. They are all the same format, short, humorous stories told as if by Nicholas, a small French schoolboy, about the life of adventures that he and his gang of friends get up to. The first three are concerned with his school life and the last is about what he gets up to in the holidays. This rerelease by Phaidon is a welcome return to a childhood favourite of mine. These are beautiful clothbound hardbacks with the original illustrations which do much to add to the wit and humour of the stories. My children love them and I love reading them to my children. In this collection our favourites have been Uncle George's Nose and The Medical Examination. Very funny - Rated The second in the series, and the second I have read. Very amusing and perceptive as the first book and it had me giggling out loud. Am in the middle of the third book and enjoying that just as much. Thoroughly recommend. Petit Nicholas! - Rated I bought all of the Nicholas books for my Husband. He reads it to me and we giggle with laughter. We absolutely love the sketchy illustrations. The original stories are short and very descriptive. You need very little imagination to be swept away with Nicholas and his adventures. The covers are traditional canvas and makes a difference from the usual hardback or cheap paperback covers. This is a special set and we are delighted to own it. How good is Nicholas Again? - Rated I think this book is really good. I gave it 4 stars because I think it could do with a bit of girls.I like it because I never got bored when I was reading it and I can always choose a random story from that book. I really look foward for the next series.
