Limited, style-intensive guide - Rated The Wallpaper* guides are an acquired taste. They are big on style: the Mexico City guide has pages of exquisite colour photos of objects you can buy in certain stores (including furniture); stylish cafes; boutique hotels and architectural gems. There's a one-page summary of the main areas, a cheeky eight blank pages "for notes" and, er, that's it. There's no practical information about transport, what to do, usable maps, or tourist sights. On the one hand, this is refreshingly original. On the other, the guide is totally useless for anyone except a dedicated slave of fashion. Pros: small, fits conveniently in your pocket. Cons: not really a guide to Mexico City.
