Amazing - every dog owner should read this - suddenly you begin to lok properly at your dog for the first time and everything begins to fall into place!
A must have book for any dog owner! - Rated
Sarah has written the book every dog has been waiting for! And as their companion, it will take you on a journey you will never look back from. Sarah through words and photos clearly illustrates how simple observations can tell you so much about your dog and how with this new understanding of each other you can tackle life together, as a team.
It is a book you will refer back to time and time again.
A must have book in any owners collection!! Enjoy.
If you read one dog training book make this the one! - Rated
I would hazard a guess that if your dog could express a preference this would be the book he would want you to read! It is different to most other training books - it will not tell you how to teach your dog to sit or lie down or stay (I suspect that might have been what the author of "Did I miss something" was looking for). What it will do is change the way you view your dog forever. It will help you to communicate much more effectively with your dog - to "read" your dog's body language and respond accordingly. It will teach you techniques that will build your dog's self confidence, and enable him to act rather than react to all sorts of situations.
This is a practical training book - techniques are clearly described and beautifully illustrated. Specific behaviours are dealt with. But more than that it is about our relationship with and respect for the animals we live with. If you value that then read this book.
Did I miss something here? - Rated
I bought the book having read other reviews and looked forward to reading it. I regret to say it was for me a disappointment. It should be entitled 'How to stroke your dog' for there is little else of value to the average dog owner who doesn't own a rescue dog with behavioural problems. I wish I could be more positive but I am left with the feeling, 'did I miss something.'
On behalf of all dogs - Thank you Sarah - Rated
This is a must read book for anybody who is interested in dogs from the pet owner to the professional. Sarah's passion for TTouch and her desire to discourage us from limiting the possibility for change by labelling behaviour shines through. This is not a stuffy book that talks down to people. It has beautiful, descriptive photographs and clear, concise text that makes it easy for anybody who reads it to step back and look at dogs from a totally different perspective. This book really helps to fit more pieces into the facinating jig-saw that is dog behaviour and training. On behalf of all dogs and their people - thank you Sarah.
