Living in the 70s - Rated
I purchased a dual rice cooker/slow cooker, mainly for the rice bit, but on looking for recipes suitable for a slow cooker I plumped for this book for starters. Unfortunately this book is just an updated version of an old book first published around 30 years ago, so the recipes are a bit "living in the 70s" (beef bourguignon anyone?). Slow cooking seems to be undergoing a bit of a revival, but we really need some new recipe books with more sophisticated recipes and flavours for more modern tastes.
Slow cooking properly explained - Rated
I liked this book. It is defiantely for the slow cooker novice. The only thing i didnt like, is that it didnt have any pictures. This book explained everything in precise detail, and even gave suggestions on, for example, what kind of rice to use - not what brand, but the actual kind, rather than just saying "Rice". The recipes range from meats, to pates, and desserts. I would recommend this book for anyone who is just starting out with their first slow cooker, and needs ideas to keep them from cooking just the recipes that come with the cooker.
It does exactly what it says on the tin!! - Rated
I was given a slow cooker as a Christmas present this year. I got this book to give me a few ideas. It is well laid out with over a hundred easy recipes. There are plenty of helpful hints and tips to help you get started. Well worth the money.

This book does exactly what it says on the front! Properly explains slow cooking, I was not apprehensive about using my new slow cooker after reading this little book. Perfect to get you started! Happy Cooking!
A great way to cook. - Rated
An excellent introduction to slow cooking but just a trite outdated in view of recent research findings on high temperature cooking. A great way and healthier way of cooking.
